Christmas with Poppie & Karagh

Wednesday, December 21, 2016

As has become tradition, Dad, Karagh and Lady packed up the Jeep and drove down to Tennessee before Christmas to celebrate and spend quality time with us. We had so much fun - Blair loved showing them around the Loveless Cafe and we took in the Christmas lights of Williamson County on the Franklin Transit Holly Trolley.

We took Dad and Karagh to the Loveless Cafe for the first time - it's our favorite local spot to bring visitors and although they've both been to our house before, we just never got the chance to take them. Of course, half the fun of Loveless is all the things to do while you wait for a table - the other half is good ol' Southern food.

"A big present for me!?"

The Franklin Transit Authority's Holly Trolley is a super cute 90-minute Christmas light tour of Franklin, TN and the surrounding county areas. Blair, like her mama, is obsessed with trolleys. She points them out in movies, pictures, real life, anywhere she finds them, she will squeal, "Troll-ay!" So we knew the Holly Trolley was right up her alley. The lights were really cool and we even got to visit with Santa Claus!

Our house is only 3 bedrooms, so whenever more than one person comes to visit, we haul out the trusty air mattress from the closet and Blair gets SO EXCITED. She was extra pumped to snuggle with Aunt Karagh to watch TV and read books, and she even fell asleep there one night.

We exchanged gifts with everyone in our first Christmas celebration of the season. Blair was so excited to help everyone with their wrapping paper and was entirely spoiled by Poppie, who gifted her a new iPad, a fancy tea set from one of his trips to China, and a Frozen dress-up trunk that has kicked off an obsession with Princess dresses on a scale I did not predict, haha. We all had fun playing with her new Codepillar from Aunt Karagh and Uncle Brendin, but Lady was not a huge fan of the little robot critter.

I know they won't be able to make this journey every year, but it's so special each year. I'm so grateful to have such an awesome family that not only makes time to come visit us all the way down here, but brings joy, laughter, and amazing memories every time.
