Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was full of very active kiddos and a lot of time outside in the cool weather! As has become tradition, we headed up to Kentucky, where we feasted on smoked turkey and fixings and then watched Mike orchestrate an abstract performance recounting the First Thanksgiving. Every day is an adventure with this man, folks.
Donuts for breakfast!

Kids' table!
The kids basically ate and then played outside. Which was great because they ran off so much energy playing ball, rolling down the hills, chasing each other, and jumping around. It's so fun to watch them all interact, especially as the little girls become more and more verbal!

Same skirt, same sweater; one year apart.
It's amazing how much she's grown in just one year!

Of course, after running themselves ragged outside, Mike gathered the family in the living room to perform a brief play entitled "The First Thanksgiving." It was complete with trashbag pilgrim outfits, paper bag Native American vests, and a cardboard boat expertly made by Danielle. Blair sang her "I'm a Little Turkey" song she learned at school and then both parties "hugged it out" to end the show with a feel-good moment. Not entirely accurate to the history, but the effort was there.

Of course, it wouldn't be Thanksgiving without me asking all of the kids to sit for a picture. It's incredible to see how much they've all changed since just last Thanksgiving! I was also struck by how similar Blair and H look... they look like little blonde sisters! Hopefully they'll continue to cooperate with my annoying requests as they get older.
