Festive fun at Gentry's Farm

Fall is in the air and being a classic basic white girl, I just can't stop myself from dragging taking the family to a pumpkin patch. My dad came to Nashville for the weekend and it was the perfect weather for a visit to Gentry's Farm in Franklin. We went to the same farm last year for Blair's first pumpkin experience and I hope to return every year as a fall tradition! It's the cutest place - they have great activities for kids of all ages, a bunch of photo-ready setups and a $3 pick-your-own patch. It was so much fun watching Blair kiss the pumpkins, get excited about the animals and squeal over the funny-shaped gourds.

The minute we got there, Blair became completely enamored with these enormous white pumpkins. She was kissing them, "booping" their stems and giving them hugs until we pulled her away to see the rest of the farm. It was so sweet!

"Ohh, what's that?"

These two had SO.MUCH.FUN together
Look at all that hair!
Time. Just. Flies. How is this even the same child?! Gaah!
Child of the Corn. (This was Mike's idea.)

Offering the gourd to a passing child haha
Dad found the craziest gourd ever!
A family picture!

There was a small area with several little green ride-on tractors for littles under two and, for as smart as she can be, the poor girl just couldn't figure out how to use them. Sitting and saying "beep beep" while pushing on the horn? Totally killed it. Using legs to make tractor move? Unimaginable rocket science. She did push the tractor and at one point picked the whole thing up like the Hulk. It was hilarious.

I can't even handle how cute that slat barn is. I want one.
Checking out the sheep

"Hi, ducks!"
Greeting the same chickens she threw her paci at last year!
Pumpkins are tasty.

Girlfriend spent a good 30 minutes playing in a log cabin kitchen they had set up near the teepees - she sat in this little chair and didn't want to leave. Other kids came and poured her "onion tea" and shared the wooden food with her, and she was so content to just hang out and clank dishes together. She's really going to love the play kitchen MeeMaw got her for Christmas! (Good thing she can't read yet!)

The gourd baskets provided almost endless entertainment for Blair and Poppie - they giggled over funny shapes, rearranged nearly every basket on the bottom shelf, and Blair got to take three gourds home with her - all of which she put her little teeth marks in by the end of the day.

Cannot contain her gourd excitement.
After we bought $6 worth of gourds and tiny pumpkins, we made our way over to the Pick-Your-Own patch. We waded through rows and rows of already-picked pumpkins (it is mid-October, after all) but we happened upon a few contenders. We took two home with us to carve into a pirate and Mickey Mouse face, and she's been obsessed with them ever since... They're still hanging on by a rotting thread on the back deck haha!

My little pumpkin <3

Our pumpkin patch adventure was the perfect way to soak up the season and say "bye! see you!" to the Tennessee summer weather. I love that she had so much fun this year and I can't wait to go back again next year. Until 2016, Gentry's Farm!
