Halloween

Monday, October 31, 2016

Well, I wasn't sure how we were going to follow up the roaring success that was Blair's George Washington costume last year, but Colonel Sanders certainly made for a hilarious addition to her growing repertoire of Halloween costumes! Blair lovingly dubbed herself "The Chicken Man" and was so excited about the costume - and now every time we see a KFC commercial, she goes absolutely nuts.

I took a few photos before her school's Trunk or Treat event on Friday, where she unabashedly stood among the tutus and princesses with a smile on her face a mile wide. Of course, had she wanted to be a princess, I probably would have let her, but I will truly cherish these few years of convincing her to participate in my hare-brained schemes. There's just something so perfect about a tiny little girl totally rocking the outfit of an iconic male figure and making people laugh.

Blair was so excited to go Trick-or-Treating on Monday. She got a little shy when she'd actually get up to the porches and doors, but she'd wave goodbye to the candy bowl-holder every time. She was a huge hit with all the dads in the neighborhood - we got tons of compliments on her costume and everyone just cracked up when they saw her. She really had a great time being "The Chicken Man" and I'm so glad we thought of it. Mike and I even got in on the fun with a pair of fried chicken drumstick t-shirts!

"This way to the next house, mama!"

Huge spider guarding our candy bowl from greedy trick-or-treaters!
Her face when she saw the spider! bahaha

2016 was a great Halloween. We've set the bar pretty high though, I can't wait to see what we come up with next year!
