Early Easter Egg Hunt

Wednesday, March 16, 2016

My mom came in for a weekend visit halfway between my birthday and Easter! We recruited her to visit that weekend so Mike and I could attend the Kingston Springs Fire Department banquet and since it was close enough to Easter, "Mimi" (as Blair now calls her), put together an early egg hunt. Mike was all about it too, since he was "training" Blair to take on cousin C in the annual McClanahan Family Egg Hunt. Spoiler Alert: The eggs were mostly stuffed with Anna and Elsa underwear, since we're about to start potty-training. Cue panic

M&M's!

"There's candy in here!"

"Help, Mimi!"

"Here mama, you want an M&M? JUST KIDDING!"
Thanks, kid.
These curls. I can't keep my hands off them!
Frozen socks!

Mike turned the side-yard into an Egg Hunt Training Camp, but our spunky miss had other plans - including using eggs as weapons and launching them as far as her little arms could throw them.

She rotated between left- and right-armed throws.
Ever the southpaw, Mike gave lots of encouragement to lefty launches.
The Mimi Bunny hid a few bigger presents in the bushes, including an Anna Barbie doll that Blair went absolutely crazy over. She recently became obsessed with the Frozen movie (all that "sah-now" this winter!), singing "Let It Go" and talking about "Ah-knee" and "Elsie" all the time. Mimi truly fed into the hype with this Frozen-themed Easter egg hunt and it couldn't have been more perfect!

"Anie" got lots of kisses straight out of the box, was recruited to draw with chalk, and then participated in a rousing driveway performance of "Let It Go," complete with dancing.
