Blair's First Christmas

Sunday, December 28, 2014

I always get excited about the Christmas season, but this year was extra special because it was Blair's first Christmas! It was a quiet, relaxing respite in between visitors and we took our sweet time opening gifts, eating delicious food and enjoying time as a little family of three.

Leading up to Christmas, Blair was mesmerized by all the twinkling lights and I had fun playing around with my camera! She developed an affinity for a tiny stuffed Santa from my bag of random decorations and we spent the weeks leading up to Christmas watching our (mostly my) favorite Christmas specials on TV and trying to talk up Santa to a baby that didn't quite understand what we were saying!

I'm in love with this "Santa's Little Helper" sweatsuit jumper.

Christmas lights are so funny!

On Christmas Eve we had mama's famous lasagna for dinner and Blair wore her festive little elf hat (although, she was hardly impressed by it). We frosted homemade sugar cookies and set them on a plate for the Big Guy. Blair got ready for bed in her first pair of Christmas jammies and we read The Night Before Christmas.

Turns out, Santa is picky about his icing.

On Christmas morning we were so excited to get her out of the crib and show her that Santa Claus had come to Clifton! She greeted us with sweet smiles and was so excited about the presents under the tree. She quickly caught on to the whole ripping paper fun and we spent all day opening gifts that had arrived for her throughout the month from family spread across the country. It was a really peaceful, lovely day and it was also the day she turned eleven months! I can't wait until next year when she can start to understand the magic of my favorite holiday!

"Is dis for me!?"

Stocking time!

Learning to rip the wrapping paper -
she got pretty good by the end of the day!

She's getting tiny little curls!

Merry Christmas, sweet girl.
